Banana Banana Bread

I love to experiment with baking by adding fruits, chocolates, and nuts to different muffin, bread, and cookie recipes. However, sometimes I just want to bake simple recipes really focusing on the main ingredient. I had four ripe bananas to use up so I went in search of some banana recipes. I found this banana banana bread on Allrecipes.com and decided to give it a try. I adapted it a bit by

Le P'tit Laurent

Le P'tit Laurent
Several of my friends told me Valentine's Day is a Hallmark holiday and that they can celebrate love everyday, they don't need to wait until February 14th. If that's truly the case, they should all plan on taking their beloved to Le P'tit Laurent for a cozy dinner for two.

I was recently invited to be a guest at Le P'tit Laurent and I can't wait to go back. It booked up quickly for Valentine's Day and it's no wonder why. Though located just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Glen Park BART station in San Francisco, it's the quintessential French bistro, decorated with all things French–a pressed tin ceiling, a collection of antique corkscrews, vintage posters and liquor signs. The waiters and waitresses are French. I can't imagine not being charmed from the moment you walk in.

The food is classic bistro fare, onion soup, mussels marinieres, beef bourgignon, cassoulet, frisee salad with bacon and poached egg, bouillabase. Call if French comfort food. These are familiar flavors, nothing fancy, but hearty and warming. I had the Rabbit Normandy, served with fingerling potatoes. It was rich and had a slightly tangy sauce. The portion was enormous. Prices are reasonable and there is a very good prix fixe for only $22.

For dessert, don't miss the "Pain Perdu" or caramelized French toast with ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. One bite and you will forget you are in San Francisco and all the cares of the world will melt away like the ice cream on your plate. And isn't that the point of going out to eat in the first place?

To engrave one word with you...
Equate the step...
Together towards the future...

And unite our hands...
To bridge the gap...
So that the warmth of love...
Will always be felt till the end of later.

Caramelized Mushroom, Onion, Asparagus and Extra Sharp White Cheddar Omelet

I love to make omelets because they are quick, simple, and you can put whatever you are craving inside. I like my omelets with one egg because I love the really thin egg layer; my husband on the other hand, prefers a thicker egg layer so I make his with two eggs. I was craving an omelet for breakfast recently so I went in search of ingredients. I found some asparagus, mushrooms, onions, and extra

Contextual Teaching And Learning 1

Models of learning have created many decades ago. Learning approach was originally developed by Bruce and colleagues. Learning model has a broad meaning and part of the learning model is a learning strategy.

Various learning strategies have the same components. For example, that all learning begins with student interest and motivate students to engage in the learning process. But each one-stage learning strategy has different stages. For example, the stages of activities in different hands-on teaching with pangajaran cooperative. These differences are mainly taking place between the opening and closing in learning. It should be understood by the teachers if we want  this strategy can be implemented well.

Each student has their own way to absorb information, called modalities. There are three categories: Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic (VAK). Teachers should find out beforehand modalities which students belong. Students with Visual modality would be easier to learn through what they see, students with auditory modality would prefer to learn through what they hear. While students with kinesthetic modalities easier to understand the lesson when learn while doing light movements

Learning strategy that could include the cognitive, affective and psychomotor approach to strategy is Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL).

Acknowledging The Necessary

It's always interesting to bring up a topic about piracy in the context of women and fashion. Unlike guys who are more straightforward admitting that they buy pirated goods just for the sake of a cheaper price, women seem to have a more complex reasoning in their purpose and justifications.

Talking about buying pirated goods is not always about "I can afford" or "I can't afford". It's not always about the finance. It's about the thinking behind it. When I buy a fake good, I openly tell people that it's fake, and bought it just for fun because it was too cute and too cheap to simply miss. As wrong as this is, at least I don't run away from the fact that it was wrong. I admitted it. However, there are many people out there who buy fake goods and pretend that they're not. They act all expensive and classy and think that they're NOT wrong. It's like saying "this isn't red" while in fact everybody knows it's red and you yourself know as well.

It leads to a nowhere-point when we debate on "but you're rich and you can afford while I can't but i want to look just as stylish". It's not a matter of social status, economy class or the action itself, but a simple thought & act of taking responsibility. The richest people can buy fake goods after all. But then what would matter is how they respond and take responsibility of their actions; to admit or to fake it.

Be 100% original inside and outside, peeps. But it's always more important to start from the inside...:)

Mint Chocolate Pixies

My son and I decided to make some chocolate pixies with mint since it was cold and rainy outside today. They were super simple and fun to make and they made the house smell fantastic. My son loved them and my daughter told me they are her new VERY favorite cookie EVER. I must say, they turned out moist, minty, and so delicious.Mint Chocolate Pixies:Recipe and photos by For the Love of

Ice Cream Pop-Ups

I love love love Magnum ice cream. In fact, my family is a HUGE fan of Magnum.

There was this one time when I said to S, "you know, Magnum's Belgian chocolate is so good, they should actually just open an ice cream restaurant and serve Magnum-based desserts". And guess what? THEY DID! Ha!!

Today was the opening of Magnum Cafe at Grand Indonesia, 5th floor, and I got invited to experience the whole new Magnum concept. The place was gorgeous. And cozy. And nice. They had waffles, desserts, small bites and even drinks made out of Magnum ice cream. YUM.

Tuscan Chicken with White Beans and Spinach

I pulled this recipe out of a Cooking Light magazine from October 2010. It looked so hearty, filling, and delicious as well as healthy. I loved that this was a one pan meal, it was simple to make, and it had very little clean up. We all enjoyed this dish... it was the perfect way to end a cold and rainy day.Tuscan Chicken with White Beans and Spinach:Adapted recipe by For the Love of

Meet up!

Last Sunday, I had the chance to meet two blogeritas I've known since the beginning of me blogging :D
Mbak Lely had lived in Surabaya, achieving her degree as a doctor. Too bad we haven't met when she still lived here. She has moved to Sulawesi with her husband. Luckily, last week mbak Lely went to Surabaya.
Mbak Elsa is an entrepreneur (I assumed). Around 2009 accidentally read her blog and amazed that her blog was soooo yellow! (She's yellow lover). Last week she had a business at Surabaya.
And the first meet up was held!

Meet Mbak Lely around 1 pm, we went to see Irna Mutiara's boutique: Up2Date. Then going around, looking for something to eat.
Eating at Top Noodles, and had a chit chat. That time mbak Elsa was still had something to do at other place (she planned to "runaway" to meet up for a while :D).

Surprise!! Finally mbak Elsa come with her sister & baby Dija!! I think Baby Dija is the youngest blogger :D!! Hahahahaha
