Talk with the wind

Talk with the wind...
In the sunny morning ...
As though a play upon words...

Talk about an aching wish...
That still not come true...
It is a fly in the ointment...

However...
We must always believe...
If every cloud has a silver lining...

Although sometime we didn't understood...
Wisdom behind the reality.

#Synopsis :

#Idioms :
aching wish = harapan yang dinantikan/keinginan yang sungguh
every cloud has a silver lining = habis gelap terbitlah terang
a fly in the ointment = hal yang mengecewakan
a play upon words = bicara sendiri

Caprese Pasta Salad with a White Balsamic Vinaigrette

This recipe was inspired by my oldest sister Dana. She called me recently and suggested I make caprese salad combined with pasta and since I am a dutiful younger sister I complied. I decided to dress the pasta salad with a simple white balsamic vinaigrette and it turned out fantastic! I really loved the fresh basil, combined with the creamy cheese, sweet tomatoes, soft pasta, and tangy

Basil Marinated Chicken Thighs

I was looking for a simple marinade for chicken thighs that used fresh basil (since I have loads of it). I found this recipe on the Food Network that looked easy and delicious. I let the meat marinate for 6 hours but longer would be even better. This marinade gave the chicken such a wonderful flavor that my entire family loved. A simple, tasty, and easy dish - perfect for a busy weeknight!Basil

The act of collecting thoughts is most of the times underrated. What people often value and appreciate is the view of someone running here and there working till late night with his or her cellphone constantly ringing being reminded of meetings one needs to attend. And yet those who sit quietly at home thinking what to do next is perceived as lazy and has nothing to do.

Collecting thoughts does not translate to doing nothing. It's the door to opening everything.

Surprise Surprise

Guess what, after countless projects and wonderful clients for these 3 long years, *drumroll* I'm finally opening my own site!! *applause please! what? no applause? sigh, a little smile perhaps? :) thank you! I know you can do it!*

I have had been asked numerous times, "What is your Etsy shop link?" or "Why won't you open up an Etsy shop?". Sadly, but I think Etsy is not for me. There are a lot of substitutes for Etsy, of course, but I have look around and can't find one that fits babalisme.

So here it is, my own babalisme dot com. It's still under construction, but I can't wait to share the news with you, I'm sharing it now!! Please be sure to drop by again when the store's held its grand opening. I'll tell you when for sure! Also my new facebook page and twitter account. I know I'm not much of a FBer or tweeter but I'll try my best! Like and follow me please :D because more surprises coming right up!

On the lighter side of surprises this week, I won a giveaway at cocomomo. This is the first time I've ever won a giveaway held by fellow Indonesian, and I'm quite surprise the snail mail package arrived in less than a week. Usually if I won something from abroad, it'd take months to arrive. By the way, ain't the camera pouch cute? Check out cocomomo for more pouch-y cutey.

Southwestern Chicken, Bean, and Sharp Cheddar Quesadilla AND Giveaway Winner

I decided to combine the last little bit of stuffing I made for the Southwestern Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms with some refried beans, extra sharp cheddar, and corn tortillas together for a tasty quesadilla. The combination of chicken, corn, cilantro, tomatoes, spinach, green onions, spices, corn tortillas, sharp cheddar, and beans was fantastic - I loved the flavors and textures of this

DIY Easy Clothing: Shawl-Hoodie Vest

Yihaaaaa :D Finally I'm back with DIY Tutorials.. don't you miss it? wehehehehe (No, Tia, we don't miss it)
Soooo, you girls probably have some shawls at your wardrobe. Here's a few steps to turn your cotton shawl into hoodie vest. Well, 'hoodie' things is so in trend right now, eh?
Hana Tajima | Hana Tajima's Maysaa | Ria Miranda's Hoodie | Siti Juwariyah (wearing Jenahara) | Puput Utami | Nur Zahra Indonesia

To make hoodie vest, you need:
Cotton shawl (mine is from Kamiidea 200 x 60 cm)
1 pin
1 brooch (if needed)

1. Wear the shawl over your head. This is to create 'hoodie' effect.
2. Take the outer side of your shawl to the back of your body. Make sure the shawl is at the same length.
3. Pin the shawl at the back of your blouse. Yes, your blouse. This way, your "vest" is more secured.

VOILA! As simple as that :D yayyy!!
Now you could create some improvisation.
1. The back view of finished hoodie vest
2. Hoodie vest worn as it is.
3. The shawl at the shoulder is folded to the neck (so the "sleeve" is gone). The "hoodie" is not being worn.
4. Hoodie vest worn with jacket. The vest itself is buttoned by a brooch.

Is that all, Tea?
Well, you could create another style.
1. Grab some fabric from the center of your chest (from left & right shawl, probably 7 cm).
2. Pull up a little bit.
3. Pin at the center.

Voila! It has more drapery ;D

Do you have more ideas? Or do you feel like wanna try? Please share with me yaaaa ^^
Thanks for reading *smooch*

Cocomomo and Me :D

Alhamdulillaaah!! Yeaayyyy i won the Cocomomo giveawayyy *dancing*
I've been eyeing on their product since about one year ago. I'm curious to have one, to touch the feel of the product, but it's quite pricey for me (well, Cocomomo used real leather so the price is actually worth the quality). Finally the time has come!!! I'm having one Cocomomo's product!! \(^o^)/
Excuse my sleepy face. Actually i feel happy! Heheheh.

I've been inspired by the owner, mbak Ayang, since i first read her blog (when i fall in love to a blog, I'd read the story from the beginning hehehe). It's about when she become unemployed, feeling afraid of what will come next, having no money, and then started to find out her passion. She loves to create. And as she poured her heart into her creations, her brand got bigger & got lots of love. Now you can find the products at Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.

Review:
Verryyy neat sewing
Good packaging (makes you happy since the first you received the package, open it, and see what's inside)
Good material

Me likey! :D Thanks mba Ayang!!!

Green Day Yayy!!

Attended Islamic Study held by Hijabee Surabaya (oh yeah it's a hijab community, finally in Surabaya!! Hahaha). Alhamdulillah I contributed as the logo & banner's designer.
The dresscode was green. And the event was fun :D Read the story at Hijabee's blog!
Pict by Adilah Novarani. We supposed to clean up the mess after the event. Balloon was the decoration hahahaha

What I wore:
Stripey shirt & green skirt (made by me!! My 2nd sewing task heheheheh).
Left pict by Dwita, right pic (crazy pose -__-") by Adilah

And here are a few of effortlessly stylish girl attended the event :D

Ikka, high school student & singer (she joined Opick's concert). Noni, makeup artist.

Levi, college student, my junior! hehehe. Lily, model. Look at Lily's ring-bangles!

BTW if you noticed, my pict is shorter than the X-Banner. But others are taller! So, yeah now you know I'm that short :D hehehehe

Big Rock Ending

It's been such a long, busy week...woah! Not blogging for 5 days feels sooooooo long hehehe...

So I've basically been caught up at work...I love working from coffee shops btw. And it's weird because I don't drink coffee at all hahah...you guys might not believe this but I've never drunk coffee my whole life even just a sip. I enjoy going to Starbucks, Coffee Bean and the like but I would always order hot chocolate milk, tea or just water...:)

Moving on...the Ideafest 2011 workshop was so much fun! I think it made me realize how much I'm into coaching, mentoring or sharing...I'd probably end up being a lecturer one day...:)

I think I ate something wrong that day during the workshop though that I ended up vomiting 7 times in half a day. Parents took me to the hospital and I was diagnosed with food-poisoning. Thank God I'm so much better now...:)

To end the week: CRANBERRIES. Seriously, Dolores is THE BOMB. I've loved her since I was in Junior High School and she will always have that special place in my heart. I love love love Cranberries and Dolores's weird moves.

Yesterday's Dream

I was pretty shocked when I received an email from Ashfi. It's an invitation to the event of Ina's Scarf!!!! Oh my God!!! I was soooo excited! The mail was sent to many girls including Hijabi FashionWeek's participant (yeah, me was :D). Buuutttt, as the mail came at Wednesday, and the event is held on Friday, I wondered.... Could I come???
Ina's scarf is the new 'it' scarf from the designer Irna Mutiara (please google if you don't know her). I'm sure the event would be fun and thrilling and every nice thing I could see.

The problem is I live at Surabaya. The event is at Bandung T_____T
And after checking plane ticket's price (althought 50% of me knew, going there is such a stupid thing and wasting money, but I still keep my hope!), aaaaaaarrggghhhh.... One way ticket was about ONE MILLION RUPIAHS!!! It's not fair, compared to what I would get (10% discount, delicious food by chef, goodie bag, and the experience to meet designers and bloggers---ummm well, that would be a precious experience of course!)

So, bye bye chance :) I'm sure the event was greeeaaattttt!! Hopefully I'll get another (^^)v

---Dinner with Mom, the night i received the invitation---
Me: "Mom! I got an event invitation!! It's a designer's store opening!" (I'm not sure my Mom knew Irna Mutiara) "Many bloggers are invited! Event is in Bandung!"
Mom: (Without expression) "So, the invitation includes the plane ticket?"
Me: (Quiet)
My brother: (Laugh out loud)
