Centro Most Stylish Onliners Part#2 - End

Salaam, ladies :D Do you remember my last post about Centro Most Stylish Onliners?
Well, the second stage of the contest was held the next day, BUT the groups are separated to individuals. It means, no grouping anymore!!! AND my friends didn't have confidence to continue it!!!! AAAARRRGGHH I became the one and only girl who wears hijab that time! -__-"
The second stage's theme was "Nautical", and onliners should wear their outfit (no borrowing at Centro this time).
Wanna see what others wear? They're sooo stylish! And the most embarrassing moment was to walk on stage like a model, hahahahaha...
Where's my photo? Hehehee I don't have any proper pict of myself -___-"
From 45 contestants, only left 14 goes to the next round. We all get Rp 100.000 shopping voucher, alhamdulillah :D

And at the third stage, the theme was "Colorburst: Revlon". It means pinkish-orangey-purplish color.
AAAAANDDDD 10 contestants were chosen to go to the final round, getting Rp 1.000.000 shopping voucher!! I GOT IT!!! Alhamdulillaaaahhh :D (see my picture? I looked happy didn't I? :p)

Big Dilemma for The Final Round
The truth was, i got a dilemma to do the final round. The contest was held on Sunday noon, and I got a ticket to Denpasar at Sunday, early flight! (It's for working, not holiday, hehehe)

And the Rp 1 million shopping voucher was only valid for the shopping rally at final round!!!
Wawawawawaaaa... the work shall be done at Sunday night!

Then my decision was, rescheduling the ticket. Aaaaaa it was soooo hectic!!! Paying ticket rescheduling at Juanda in the morning, going to Galaxy Mall for the final at 11 a.m, and must be at the airport at 15.00 for flight at 15.55 p.m.

The final round itself was soooooo fun yet hectic & tiring.
Imagine this: Contestants were given Rp 1million voucher, and only 30 MINUTES to shop! Including fitting, paying at cashier (and you know the queue at weekend?), and styling ourselves wherever you find a place to change your clothes!!

Running here and there looking what shall i buy. What is good enough for the contest, and is good enough to be worn at my real life?? My choice: Pleated skirt (I've been wanting it since the few days before) & batwing top. And I must buy inner top because I didn't bring it from my house -__-" Lucky I found empty fitting room, so I could finish  styling on time :D
And I still left some Rp 100.000 vouchers :) I'll give it to my mom.

Tadaaaaaa.... here is me & some other contestants, styling with Centro's items :D
source of pict: Centro fan page
Why I put my picture larger than the others???? Because this is MY BLOG wahahahahahhh :))

I left the contest earlier (there should be some little presentation about the outfit but I took permission) coz I must catch my plane! The best look were chosen for an additional Rp 1million, and I didn't join until the end. So bye bye additional 1 million, but still, alhamdulillah, thanks Centro for the great experience (and shopping vouchers i got ^^)

Do you like my look?? It's somehow looked like a gypsy :p The effort was less than 30 minutes, and my body was shaking greatly (panic panic panic!) :D and i was the only one wearing jilbab! (umm, well, not really, coz some boys wore turban :P)
Vote my picture here :D Thank youuuuuu
*smooch*
PS: to like the picture, firstly you must like the centro's page ^^
And you can see what others wear, too... Fun!

Centro: A New Star Has Born

Lucky meee, being invited to the grand opening of the first Centro dept. store in Surabaya :D
Met some new onliners (well, I raaareeelyyy seen Surabaya's fashion blogger), and found out that one of them came from the same junior high school as me! Aha! I knewww i've seen her face :p
From left to right: Merry, me, Dista, Andri (same junior high!), and Kanya. I love Dista's vintage style heheheh.
There were also Surabaya's Cak & Ning (Mr & Miss Surabaya), Ferry Salim as the MC, Andre Aksana & the beautiful Olla Ramlan (wow she's much more prettier than whom I saw at TV!)

Then a fashion show was held, showing Centro's newest collections. Hehehe I'll only post the kaftan collections, as they are loose and flowy and long and hijab friendly ;D So colorful.
which one do you like the most? I saw some prettier kaftans at the show, but the picture was blurrrryyy -__-"

Then the guests were allowed to do "the first walk" to the new store! Yayyy!!
Ended the event with a big grin :D Received a goodie bag, contained an ethnic necklace! Thanks Centro!!
Whoaaa I became Surabaya's socialite! I'm readyyy to parrrteeehhhh all night loong... ehehhehh kidding, guys. I'm still an introverted silly shy humble and culun girl :D

PS: check out centro's website and find out some contests you could enter :D

Centro Most Stylish Onliners Part#1

The Most Fun & Hectic Hours at Centro
Let me tell you a short story :D There were a contest: Centro Most Stylish Onliners, held at Surabaya. At the first stage, contestants are grouped into 5 people. Luckyyyyy I've met Hijabee's girl! If not, i didn't know who should I ask to accompany me in a fashionista things like this :p Heheheh.
Theeeeennn the fun part was, these groups were given some minutes to borrow Centro's outfit! Only for the brand CEIL & KARLA. One of the group member should be a model while the rest get her styled. The brand itself has various outfits. Many stylish items like jumpsuits, cardigans, cape, etc. But whaaattt will a hijabi wear??

We got confused. We brought a few piece of scarf & shawl from home, try to mix and match them to what will our 'model' wear. Then we decided to dress her in colorful kaftan.

The hectic-ness continued. What hijab style to use?? The event organizer has told us to be quick, not enough time. Pin here and there. Used this and those shawl. Add a brooch. Add necklace. More pins. And the turban styling done!

Tadaaaaa.... here is sheeeee...
Lily the model, behind her sweet smile, she was hungry and her head was dizzy because of the heavy turban! Sorry girl :p But she's so beautiful riiightt???

Ouchhh others were sooo stylish in modern pick of outfits! And very cool styling, too... Here's a few of the contestants:

The judges then called the qualified contestants to go to the next round. WHY our group's number hadn't been called????? I was busy to comfort myself that it's okay to lose when finally our group number was called.
And the excitement hasn't over.

Our group became the judges' most favorite styling that dayyy!! Yaaayyyyy alhamdulillaaaahhh!!! It must be bcoz we were different than others :D
See the winning pic here, from @centroholic twitter. I looked fat :p will not post it here!
"Kaftan for Lebaran", beautiful in turban styling, was one point I told the judges at the contest. Hihihi... Maybe it matched Lebaran moment?
We got one package from PAC cosmetic. Thanks PAC!
Happyyyy :D thanks gals for accompanying me... And splitting the cosmetics to 5 of us was so heboh :p

One lesson learned:
"Wearing jilbab surely makes our choices of clothing less various. There's some rules of modesty. But don't worry, it will bring us LUCK!"

..to be continued to the second round, heheheh....

DIY Easy Clothing: Shawl-Hoodie Vest

Yihaaaaa :D Finally I'm back with DIY Tutorials.. don't you miss it? wehehehehe (No, Tia, we don't miss it)
Soooo, you girls probably have some shawls at your wardrobe. Here's a few steps to turn your cotton shawl into hoodie vest. Well, 'hoodie' things is so in trend right now, eh?
Hana Tajima | Hana Tajima's Maysaa | Ria Miranda's Hoodie | Siti Juwariyah (wearing Jenahara) | Puput Utami | Nur Zahra Indonesia

To make hoodie vest, you need:
Cotton shawl (mine is from Kamiidea 200 x 60 cm)
1 pin
1 brooch (if needed)

1. Wear the shawl over your head. This is to create 'hoodie' effect.
2. Take the outer side of your shawl to the back of your body. Make sure the shawl is at the same length.
3. Pin the shawl at the back of your blouse. Yes, your blouse. This way, your "vest" is more secured.

VOILA! As simple as that :D yayyy!!
Now you could create some improvisation.
1. The back view of finished hoodie vest
2. Hoodie vest worn as it is.
3. The shawl at the shoulder is folded to the neck (so the "sleeve" is gone). The "hoodie" is not being worn.
4. Hoodie vest worn with jacket. The vest itself is buttoned by a brooch.

Is that all, Tea?
Well, you could create another style.
1. Grab some fabric from the center of your chest (from left & right shawl, probably 7 cm).
2. Pull up a little bit.
3. Pin at the center.

Voila! It has more drapery ;D

Do you have more ideas? Or do you feel like wanna try? Please share with me yaaaa ^^
Thanks for reading *smooch*

Green Day Yayy!!

Attended Islamic Study held by Hijabee Surabaya (oh yeah it's a hijab community, finally in Surabaya!! Hahaha). Alhamdulillah I contributed as the logo & banner's designer.
The dresscode was green. And the event was fun :D Read the story at Hijabee's blog!
Pict by Adilah Novarani. We supposed to clean up the mess after the event. Balloon was the decoration hahahaha

What I wore:
Stripey shirt & green skirt (made by me!! My 2nd sewing task heheheheh).
Left pict by Dwita, right pic (crazy pose -__-") by Adilah

And here are a few of effortlessly stylish girl attended the event :D

Ikka, high school student & singer (she joined Opick's concert). Noni, makeup artist.

Levi, college student, my junior! hehehe. Lily, model. Look at Lily's ring-bangles!

BTW if you noticed, my pict is shorter than the X-Banner. But others are taller! So, yeah now you know I'm that short :D hehehehe

Yesterday's Dream

I was pretty shocked when I received an email from Ashfi. It's an invitation to the event of Ina's Scarf!!!! Oh my God!!! I was soooo excited! The mail was sent to many girls including Hijabi FashionWeek's participant (yeah, me was :D). Buuutttt, as the mail came at Wednesday, and the event is held on Friday, I wondered.... Could I come???
Ina's scarf is the new 'it' scarf from the designer Irna Mutiara (please google if you don't know her). I'm sure the event would be fun and thrilling and every nice thing I could see.

The problem is I live at Surabaya. The event is at Bandung T_____T
And after checking plane ticket's price (althought 50% of me knew, going there is such a stupid thing and wasting money, but I still keep my hope!), aaaaaaarrggghhhh.... One way ticket was about ONE MILLION RUPIAHS!!! It's not fair, compared to what I would get (10% discount, delicious food by chef, goodie bag, and the experience to meet designers and bloggers---ummm well, that would be a precious experience of course!)

So, bye bye chance :) I'm sure the event was greeeaaattttt!! Hopefully I'll get another (^^)v

---Dinner with Mom, the night i received the invitation---
Me: "Mom! I got an event invitation!! It's a designer's store opening!" (I'm not sure my Mom knew Irna Mutiara) "Many bloggers are invited! Event is in Bandung!"
Mom: (Without expression) "So, the invitation includes the plane ticket?"
Me: (Quiet)
My brother: (Laugh out loud)

Sketch: Combining Colors

Maybe you'll get bored because these days I will post some of my design tasks :p
*solution of my no-materials-for-blogging & no-time-for-blogging issue hehehe*

Color combination theory is choosing colors based on color-wheel.
This one is: analog colors. For more information about analog colors harmony, please kindly ask Mr. Google :D i found some info here.
*I kinda think the skirt makes her look like Mars creature--like an octopus! :))
Heyy lately hoodie outfit was booming. Please note that I drew this picture around Feb 2011 before the trend :p

And this one: complementary colors.
*the bow applique was inspired by Tsumori Chisato's design

Thanks for reading! Critics & comments are welcomed :D

Turquoise and Memories

Last Sunday I followed my mom visiting wedding at Graha ITS Surabaya. We're working to supervise the catering there. Well, going to wedding event but working at the same time, I wore my turquoise blazer. No time for mix & match so I grabbed any skirt I saw and any jilbab I have. Heyy luckily my Claro veil match the color! :D
Blazer: Sole mio, headdress + veil: Claro, dark brown shirt, skirt: 1st sewing task at Arva, flat shoes: Nevada.

Around 7.30 pm I felt bored and suddenly I had the idea of visiting my laboratory at the campus. No one can stop me. The road was dark, (hahaha only about 5 minutes walking from the event). I wished there were somebody at the laboratory (usually lab's assistant work at the lab until late at night).
Alhamdulillah my junior was at the lab with his friends :D
I played with computers there, looking at my friend's folders, found our old photos, and missing them sooooo much!

Then I went back to Graha. Heyyyyyyyy I met my juniors!!! They were my lab's assistant, eating the catering's food! Hmmmm that's why the lab was less crowded :p Cheese! :D
This picture was found in my friend's folder. We were KOI Laboratory's assistant! Miss u all brothers & sisters!!!

I was soooo happy meeting pieces of my life back in campus ^^

Slouchy Saturday & DIY Aladin Pants

Mbak Lely once asked me, where did i buy the aladin pants I wore in this post.
Well, actually the pants was bought in Up2date. And it WAS not aladin pants :D It's a wide kulot pants, and too long for the short-me.

DIY Aladin Pants :
1. I made the "too long" pants shorter by folding the bottom seam
2. Sew to make a seam at the bottom
3. Insert a ribbon (cut some thread at the joint of fabrics, for the ribbon's hole)

Voila! The wide pants can be worn in 2 styles now :) Just pull & tie the ribbon to create aladin pants.

Land Coffee

..a.k.a Kopi Darat a.k.a Meet Up with some bloggers at Royal Plaza Surabaya, May 15 2011.

Met the creative Amelia Saga, accompanied by her sister. They came from Tulungagung for this meet up! Waooowwww... Thanks for coming! :D BTW Amel wore a cute DIY owl brooch.
Mbak Yuni and Aishi Lely, they were junior high school friends. Mbak Yuni came from Sidoarjo, and Aishi lely from Tanjung Pinang!!!
And there were mbak Elsa (from Jombang) accompanied by her sister, Nona. Ooops sorry Nona i only had this picture when you're not in a good pose >.<
Had a fun and noisy chit chat for about 3 hours at "good friends great pizza". Nona had a hidden plan. She made us fill her questionnaire task!! Hahahaha...
It's so great to meet the 'real person' of bloggers we'd only known online :)
By the end of our meet up, Amel gave us brooches she made herself :) Thank youuuuuu... And thank you mbak Elsa for the food! Read the full article on mb.Elsa's blog (btw the 1st and last picture above are hers) ^^

What I wore:
I wore my new purple hijab, sent by Bunda Key from Rumah Jilbab.
It has 3 layered colors from chiffon (I don't know the real material name), and surprisingly the hijab is easy to wear & not see-through. Thank you Bunda Key!
Purple brooch from Luchie.

Wide Leg Trouser?

"Wide trousers can be treated as like we wear skirt. We can wear shorter blouse/shirt."
Is it true?? Well, make sure that the crotch is loose enough. You don't wan't that area to be tight so people can see your body shape...
Shawl: Delisha; Tee: unbranded; Trouser: MADE BY ME :P; Shoes: Marie Claire
Ummm, forgive my grumpy face >.<

Yeaayyy finally I wear my self-made trouser!!
Personally I still think this look is kinda plain and too boyish :p And looks shorter and wider (fatter) ahahahahahh

Become a daily style? No.
Wear it next time? Only if I need to wear trouser for heavy activity. Otherwise? Prefer Skirt / Knee length dress + jeans heheheh

T-Shirt Revamped To Tulle Dress

Just remembered I got this... A plain T-Shirt, got revamped by adding some fabric yoyos (flowers) and tulle for tutu skirt at the waist. And cut the neck line, and shorten the sleeves. Done this at February 2011 for T-Shirt Remake Competition but didn't win. The theme was "Valentine"... Mine was "floral bouquet". Actually the design itself has 2 lollipop inserted, to add cuteness hehehe.

Ahhh you should see the other competitors, theirs were sooo creative! I only got them captured by my cellphone, and the picture quality is so no no no no...

Enough talking. Enjoy :)
Just add some fabric yoyos and sew tulle around the waist!

I said bye bye to this thing yesterday. Cut it into half. Probably I'll turn the "skirt" into tulle bag... And the upper side? I'll take the fabric yoyos to create cute brooches :) lalalalaaaa...

Goldielock

What I wore to work yesterday:
Cardigan as blouse: Elizabeth toko tas di Surabaya; Belt: from mom; Beads necklace: Manggadua; Shawl: Mom's; SKIRT: MADE BY ME :D :D :D *grin*

hihihihi... those skirt was my very first outfit creation from sewing lesson. I've read all your comment from previous post (sorryyy i haven't visited your blog! Will do that at weekend, okay? :D)
And many of you said, wanna study sewing.
I encourage you all! Learning is fun! And once you get attached with your sewing machine, your sleeping dreams will be about sewing and your feet will keep moving just like when you hit the machine.
Of course I'm kidding.

Happy news today. Briptu Norman's punishment was done in a peaceful way :)

Do you know why this outfit was special?

"Hey I don't see something special, Tea."

I'll tell you in 5 seconds...
I wore this to office yesterday.
 What's special about this???

I MADE THE BLOUSE MYSELF!!!! Yaaayyyy!!! \(^0^)/
"Wait... you mean, you SEW it yourself??"
Uhuh. Yeah. I sew it myself :D :D :D :D
This is the third task of my sewing school :) Making blouse. I still can't believe I am able to do that.
A few months before, I was a girl who is afraid using sewing machine. And to produce clothes by my own hand, well, nothing beats the pleasure ;)
