Sketch: Combining Colors

Maybe you'll get bored because these days I will post some of my design tasks :p
*solution of my no-materials-for-blogging & no-time-for-blogging issue hehehe*

Color combination theory is choosing colors based on color-wheel.
This one is: analog colors. For more information about analog colors harmony, please kindly ask Mr. Google :D i found some info here.
*I kinda think the skirt makes her look like Mars creature--like an octopus! :))
Heyy lately hoodie outfit was booming. Please note that I drew this picture around Feb 2011 before the trend :p

And this one: complementary colors.
*the bow applique was inspired by Tsumori Chisato's design

Thanks for reading! Critics & comments are welcomed :D

Sketch: Denim and Ribbon

My illustration task a few months ago. Designing denim :)

Me likey the left picture, heheheh. The right was too sexy -__-"

Actuallyyyyyyy I haven't done my evening lesson at Arva, but I've been absent for more than 2 months. Evening lesson was tiring you know, going after work, and arriving home at night.
Hiyaaaaa, I know I know, I shouldn't quit before I finished all my tasks.
InshaAllah I'll finish it aaaalllll! Aamiin.

The Art of Apron

My design school will had a gathering next Saturday at Surabaya Town Square (Sutos). The theme is: Art of Apron a.k.a Celemek. Each student must create an apron with Icon printed on it. Any Icon. Someone uses Eiffel Tower, someone Lady Gaga, someone Michael Jackson, etc. I chose Mulan as my Icon (for apron). Yeah, Mulan is cool, you know. She is strong and sooo heroic! The-only-one-heroic Disney Princess.

This is what my apron turned out to be *I SEW THIS MYSELF hehehehe*. Not finished yet in my concept, but I think I'll just let it be like that.

Below is the original design (yeaaahhhh it looks better on the sketch :( I'm losing the "oriental fan" look, because the transfer paper were too small). Some details I made: fabric flower and dragon skin fabric origami..

Detail of icon (printed on transfer paper, then being ironed to the fabric):
PLAN is not always the same with RESULT. I cannot attend Saturday's Arva Gathering. Means, I will not wear this apron to Surabaya Town Square. And I will not see what everyone else would wear (other students create greeaaat greeaaat beautiful artsy aprons!)

On Saturday I'll go to Hijabers Community Launching. If any of you go to HC Launching, maybe you'll see me there :) (not wearing apron, of course).

Hoahm so sleepy. Bye bye for now. Remember to pray before sleep, and think about nicest things, because before sleep, we enter "alpha wave" -- what we think, the universe will respond. CMIIW :)

UPDATE:: my sewing-teacher will wear my apron to Arva gathering @ Sutos next Saturday :)

Designs Attack!

Assalamu'alaikum dear ladies :) Hehehe I've scanned my design tasks from my design course... I know I've posted some of these before, but here is the real version, with decorated background on black linen paper.
Animal print task. Around June 2010. The hardest part is to draw those pattern one-by-one >.< Still drawing non-hijabi.
Circle skirt. Around July 2010. At that time I've decided to design muslim wear for all of my task.
Unusual Ready-to-wear Trouser design. Around August 2010. Hmmm I didn't know that lately this kind of "Harem pants" would be such a trend, hahaha...
Shantung and chiffon/organdi. Too orange I guess :)) Decorated with beads and gemstone in various color to reduce the monotonous-orange-look.

To be continued later when I've finished some other tasks....
*I know I'm such a bad student, very slow on doing homework >.<

Wedding Gown Design: Inspired by Indonesian Fabric

Had sent these 2 designs for a wedding gown design competition but I loooseeeee.... :D
I guess this design's destiny is to be published at my blog only hehehe.... Here's two different style of wedding dress, created by meeeeee....

Design 1: using batik as ornament, asymmetrically
Design 2: Using Makassar silk as an outer wear, adapting style of lolita.
Hmmm probably I will consider the second design as my someday-wedding-dress... hahahahaa....

I do feel that my designs were not quirky enough to be accepted at a design competition... But however, who would want to wear a quirky dress for her wedding? Errr... not me....

Drawn by hand (drawing pen), scanned, colored using Photoshop. Batik & Makassar silk patterns are scanned. BTW, thanks Ghaida from gdagallery.blogspot.com who told me it was Makassar silk :D (I hadn't known the name of those fabric)

PS: I start using an internet ad on my blog, so you will find some words in my article underlined. Do click if you find it interesting, or just ignore them :)

Sketch: Animal Print

Lunch break! Yayyy I still have 30 minutes free :D So I'll post my sketch at the design lesson a week ago. The task was to make 2 dresses in one style, using animal print fabric. The hardest part was painting the animal print, one-by-one. So tiring and boring hehehe. Pardon me, if this pict is not modest enough. I'll try to sketch hijabi version for the next tasks :)

I think the blue one should be red, too :-/
BTW I got a surprise prize from Luchie :D She's so creative, I got a crocheted brooch she made herself. I'll post it next ;) Thank you Luchieeee ^^

PS: sorry for not being able to blogwalking to your blogs... I do visit and read your blogs :) but time runs so fast and I couldn't freely leave comments..

I do love comments, but it feels the greatest when you know someone actually read your blogs (although they don't leave any comments) for the content :) Thank you for being my blog reader, it supports me to keep posting hehehe.... ^^ thank youuu....

I Was Crazy

...about Pet Society.
You know... a social game in facebook, where you can have a virtual pet and buy clothes and foods and furnitures for them. I had a pet named Lullabella; here she is:
Well, as you see, I've already used the name "Tealovecoffee" (now I think it's a stupid name because of wrong grammar,, hahaha.... it must be "tea-loveS-coffee"... hey hey why am I writing about my nickname, this post is supposed to tell the world about my Pet-Society-Craziness -_-")

My pet was poor, I had to visit all my neighbor everyday and join race to get money. Then I found the forum of Pet Society. That's when my craziness started. I found out many users held giveaways or contests. They wanted their pet to be drawn, or they wanted people making them a cute avatar. And I wasted my time drawing and scanning and editing --> I supposed to work on my final project at early 2009.

I won the drawing contests a few times, and my pet got many luxury items---which I sold to get much money. And the game became uninteresting anymore coz my pet was already rich. My boredom made me stop playing, and voila, I finished my Final Project :D

Here's a few of my creations ;) do enjoy them, as I spent much of my time making all those paintings beautiful.

An Avatar I made [using CorelDraw], won the first prize (the pet owner loved what I made) ;D

Won the costume design contest [I created the Balinese costume using Corel]. Look at the details... how could I spent my time working on such details like that -___-"

A painting I made, I got a bath tub and kitchen set hahahaha [painted by hand, scanned, and colored using Photoshop]

Another painting I made, got the luxurious rare item: Piano [painted by hand, scanned, and colored using Photoshop]

Another painting I made, I really love it, so neat :) And the pet owner loved the painting, too ^o^ [painted by hand, scanned, and colored using Photoshop, background details: brushes from Deviantart]

1 Design per day?? Errr...

Assalamu'alaykum.. Hyaaa I know I've been a very bad bad blogger lately... Busy doing this or that and I've forgotten my sweet blog.. Well I've told you before, the reason of laziness: 1. Too lazy to do photoshoot of daily style (in fact my daily style doesn't deserve to be captured hahaha); 2. Too lazy to think something creative...
Well yeah, since I made this blog to be my canvas of creativity,,, lately I need a lot of effort to post something >.<

Anyway last week I was at Jakarta joining Breastfeeding Fair Bazaar. I met Wulan, the muslimah fashion blogger. She visited me at my boutique's booth. Too bad I didn't take a picture hehehe... She's just so adorable, and I wore a uniform.. Nice to meet you Wulan ^^

I've been thinking what am I gonna do with this blog? How if I post 1 design per day??? Errrrrrr.... sounds great but ummm it's a lot of effort!!  So maybe I will post 1 design per week, 1 daily style per week, and 1 DIY project per month. Pheww...

Today's design:
Waterfall outer
Really want to make this for my own :D Made by 2 colors of chiffon (reversible)...

Wedding Inspiration

Assalamu alaykum...

Hehe... it's not like that I will get marry soon (but, if you pray so, amin! :p)
I just wanna share my sketch of muslim wedding outfit... Do you think it's proper enough?

Details:
Materials: Baby pink lace fabric ("kain brokat"), good quality of broken white fabric (maybe curtain's fabric hehehe) for outer dress.
Give some layers of lace drapery at the chest to hide your curve...
And for Javanese people, add some jasmine strings for head accessories ;)
